I'm A Proud Blogger!

I sometimes don't really feel sure myself about what it is that I really do. I blog, I run a shoe business, I do Youtube, I write. I'm here and there! Believe it or not, until today, I sometimes still feel inferior towards people who are pursuing their career in the corporate world. Sometimes, saying that you work in an oil & gas company, or in a financial consulting firm, feels waaaaaaaay cooler than introducing yourself as a "blogger", or even an "entrepreneur". Being a freelancer in the creative industry is somewhat rather more abstract and sometimes you just feel uncertain about it. But it's just sometimes. Many times, I feel awesome for doing what I do, for purely creating out of love, without being enslaved by any other commercial power. And today was that day where I feel so appreciated for being a blogger.

What happened? I won an award from Genie Woman Festival 2016 in the "Inspiring Blogger" category! Yayyyyy! Alhamdulillah. It's been 9 years since I started blogging and to still be appreciated until today is truly a blessing. Thank you sooooo much! :)

It was a crazy day to be live on TV two shows in a row by only an hour apart in two different places. But I made it! Hahah! I started the morning being in Intermezzo on iNews TV before I rushed to Sarah Sechan..:)

I was like...whatttt? When the Hitam Putih team contacted me, they wanted to invite celebrities who look alike other celebrities, and I was proposed to be twinned with Asri Welas hehehehhehe. Do you think I look like her? Many people say I do. I think we basically both share the same chubby cheeks and big eyes...;p

Anyway, Asri Welas is such a lovable person in real life. I could see right through her eyes that she is a kind and sincere person. It was so nice to meet her and chat with her. She was a traditional dancer turned model turned actress and now a fashion designer and entrepreneur. I'm happy that my "twin" is such a great woman! Yay! :)

Top Fashion Influencer, Baby!

Influence Asia 2015 was awesome! I am so so proud to be a part of it. The energy was just great! When influencers meet together, we just connect so easily. And it's about time that influencers are given such platform so we can further improve the overall industry that's still pretty new to everybody.

The event itself was hosted by Yellow Digital Marketing and produced by Gushcloud, aiming to honor individual and group achievements in the Social Media Influencer industry across Asia.

To make the event more exciting, there were also performances by Shigga Shay (SG), Gareth Fernandez (SG), Joe Flizzow And Sonaone (MY), Dandee (TH) and Raisa (ID). Plus, special appearances by Tiffany of Girls’ Generation, Jay Park, RedFoo, Yebin, Utt and many more. Hosted by the funny duo Peter Chao and Sheikh Haikel.

So there we flew together from Indonesia to Singapore, the top nominees representing Indonesia from different categories such as fashion, beauty, lifestyle, parenting, health & fitness, food, and Youtube.

And guess what? I WON! I'm sooooo happy to have won the Top Fashion Influencer award representing Indonesia. It's an honor to go back home to Jakarta bringing such a beautiful (and heavy) trophy. I never knew that "being true to yourself" can be so rewarding. Woohoo! :)

PS: I was so lucky to have my award handed to me by Jay Park himself. Like, OMG!!

It was a big night for me. A night I will never forget in my entire life. I never thought that what I do for a living would actually be appreciated that much by other people, because I just do what I do. Does that even make sense?

Thank you so much, FTUI. For including me in your very first "50 Tokoh Inspirasional FTUI" list (50 Inspirational People of Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia) and making me the youngest in the list. It's an amazing feeling to share the same award with Fauzi Bowo, Akbar Tandjung, Johan Budi, CEOs of respectable global and local companies. I mean...what does that make me? OMG. I feel nothing compared to these people. The number of years they have spent working and contributing to the society is basically how old I am today hehehe. Nevertheless, I hope I can contribute just as much, or even more, for this country and the world, in the many years to come. Insya Allah. Let us all always carry the spirit to go bigger each and every day.
