Last Day of 2016

Call me ridiculous, but I've been thinking for so long today on what to upload as my last post in 2016. I wish I could write something as jolly as my friends feel about their awesome year, and although my year has personally been blessed too, I do not feel the same way whole-fully. I feel that 2016 has been tough for this world. The massive shootings, the rising discrimination once again towards certain races and religions and colors, Trump, the Ahok case, terrorism attacking both muslims and non-muslims, bans on burqa in certain countries, the monthly news on ISIS hitting a new city, Aleppo, OMG, it just does not stop. It breaks my heart so deeply to see the world getting so much more technologically advanced yet so mentally moving backwards where every body starts separating themselves once again just because - we are different. This phenomenon is living among us, it is breathing quietly in our daily lives, separating us apart slowly but deadly. And although death is always near us, doesn't it feel that 2016 has so many more deaths in it?

On this NYE, I really pray for a better 2017 for all of us around the globe. I pray that 2017 will be safer for all of us, more peaceful, less judgmental, more love, less crime. But most importantly, believe that the change you wish to see in this world starts from yourself. Good night ❤️ - D

Slow Thoughts

If I were to be really honest to myself, 2016 has been hurtful because I feel like a lot of people around me have hurt me in different ways. I feel like I will be leaving the year with a scar. But over time, I am slowly accepting this scar as a good reminder that this is how life simply works. People will hurt me, but it shouldn't take away my personal happiness. Be it my family, my employee, my friend, or acquaintances I make over the internet, some will one day turn their back on me. And today I am okay. I have fully accepted this notion. Pain, to a certain extent, makes me stronger anyway.

Hey, 2016.

It's been a quiet week on my side. Haven't been doing so much, just spending time at home, clearing my mind and trying to let ideas roll in naturally. A lot of things have been happening, a lot of things are going to happen, so I'm kinda saving my energy on these things. I need to focus, therefore need to be relaxed. My business, Up, is going through a major change, I really hope it is for the best, inshaaAllah. 2017 will definitely be an exciting year because I feel like 2016 was a year full of so much valuable lessons and I feel so much better and stronger now.

Happy Birthday To Me!

As usual, I am not one who really celebrate birthdays hehehe. I don't know, I just prefer to keep things simple and small. This time, hubby took me for a short getaway to Bogor for my birthday. I am really happy to have such a loving husband who always tries to do the sweetest things for me despite not being a romantic person hehehhe. I love you, S! Grow old with me, okay!

Happy Under The Sun

Did you know that the sunlight has a lot of healing benefits? :)

Medically, a good amount of exposure under the sun can kill bad bacterias, lower cholesterol levels and blood pressure, increases oxygen content in our blood, and boosts our supply of Vitamin D that is good for our bones.

Emotionally, sunlight enhances our mood and can actually be a cure for depression. Regular sunlight exposure can naturally increase the serotonin levels in our body, making us more active and alert.

Given all these natural benefits, us girls should stop hiding so much under the sun and be "Berani Matahari". I know it can get ultra hot sometimes, but try to embrace its warmth and let the sunlight soak into your skin and feel healthy. After all, nature is the best remedy for our body and mind.

I am not one who runs away from the sun. I just make sure that I use a sun protection so that it filters out the bad effects of extreme sunlight (sinar UV). Otherwise, play under the sun and have fun! And speaking of sun, I just came back from Sumba and boy was it soooo hot. But that did not stop me from enjoying the beauty of Sumba and in fact, our friends and I very much enjoyed lying down on the beach and just chill. I did get darker a  bit after coming back, but a bit of tan can do no harm and will fade over time anyway. You can try L’Oréal Paris UV Perfect Aqua City UV Mist as a way to protect your skin from the danger of the sun. It comes in a spray format that is easy to carry around everyday.

Do you have any stories about the sunlight too? If you do, you can share your story at www.beranimatahari.com and visit the website to know more about how the sun is good for your life.

Slow Wednesday

In life, we win, we lose. We gain the unexpected, we lose the most expected. At the end, we end up realizing one thing, like a reminder because us humans forget, that God knows best, and always gives us the best.

The Matte & Warm We Love

Look at my new toyssss! Always happy when it comes to lipsticks hehehe.

Honestly, these are not my usual lipstick colors but I am so up for it! ☺️ These new shades of Revlon Matte Balm called Passionate, Enchanting, Fierce and Fiery are perfect for a subtle daily look. When applied, it feels so warm to the lips, it even tastes and smells like peppermint too.

Its Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Mango, and Coconut Butter Great provides a great moisturizing feel to the lips. The crayon-like format of this product also makes it so fun, very practical to bring inside our bag.

With one time application, the color is already very pigmented. Which one do you think looks best on me? I honestly love them all! :)

My Take On Jeans

When it comes to wearing my jeans, there are two ways that I usually go for; classic or fun. So in today’s blog post, I am gonna share with you guys how I usually wear my jeans on a daily basis. And FYI, both of the jeans featured in this post are from the new Wrangler Shape Keeper series.

1) Keep it classic
For a classic look, I recommend jeans that comes with a boot-cut. To create the perfect silhouette, wear them with heels, either with stilettos or boots. And toughen up with a classic biker jacket, or go casual-classic with a turtle neck shirt.

2) Make it fun
Skinny jeans are the easiest to play around with, and for a fun look, I usually roll up my jeans by around 2-3 folds, and pair them with socks! A bit preppy, yes? :) But a fun kind of preppy.

Which ever look you like, I do think you would like the Wrangler Shape Keeper jeans because they have an unrivalled cut that well-defines our legs and body curves. The jeans themselves are comfy to wear and hugs our waist nicely as it uses a hidden elastic waistband to create no gap at the back especially when we’re sitting. It also keeps it structure and shape wear after wear and wash after wash due to its superior stretch and recovery properties within the fabric.

If you love the jeans I’m wearing in this post, you can shop them from here and use the promocode “DianaWrangler” at check-out to enjoy a 20% discount.

So, classic or fun? :)

What Is Rich?

Dearest youngsters, if I may, I would like to suggest some things for you to consider in life.

"Freedom of expression" is not the same as "being irresponsible and saying anything we want to including cursing and talking vulgarly".

If you think Awkarin is inspiring because "she is bold enough to express herself the way she wants to", I don't see how I can agree with that.

Awkarin is a bad example of putting fame and money as #lifegoals, thinking that being able to make money at such a young age is inspiring and #goals. Being young, you should be hungry for knowledge and experience, not money.

Awkarin is inspiring because she knows how to monetize herself, that I admit. Her business sense is good.

If you want to look up to someone, just make sure it is for the right reasons.

And as an influencer myself, I would like to say it out loud that MAKING LOTS OF MONEY OUT OF ENDORSEMENTS IS NOT INSPIRING AT ALL.

It's just a free ride or a bonus that is oh so temporary. All this social media shizz has an expiry date.

Make your life more valuable and useful. Build a business or work for something that has an impact to your society, country, or simply family.

And one last thing: The number of followers you have does not define your life or who you are as a human being.

Thank you and happy Friday. ❤️

Pink & Clean

Let’s talk about something different today: facial cleansers! :)

When I first saw this new Ovale Cleansing Gel, the one thing that went on my mind was.. that’s nice shade of pink! :D

This facial cleanser comes in a small bottle that is practical to keep and carry around for traveling, so the packaging size is definitely on point.

To use this cleanser, all you need to do is pour an appropriate amount of the gel onto the palm, wipe through the face and neck gently, and wipe off using a cotton pad. The gel texture is light and non-sticky, and I love how refreshing it feels to the skin, making my face bright and clean afterwards. Even when I’ve washed my face with another facial wash and feel that my face is already very clean, another wipe using Ovale Cleansing Gel still proves that it is not fully clean yet, hence the need of this product.

With only a small amount of gel, it removes dirt and oil fully. The after-affect of this Ovale Cleansing Gel is my favorite, making my skin feeling clean, soft and also matte.

And hey, it’s pink! :)
