She's Just A Blogger

I attended an event where many fashion people were present. Fashion people consists of many types. People from the fashion media, fashion stylists, fashion designers, fashion retail players, and...fashion bloggers. Although I keep telling people I'm not necessarily a fashion blogger but more of "just" a "blogger" (because I talk about other things too other than fashion, I think), but the label sticks so okay, I'll take that "fashion blogger" label.

But anyway, my point was, among the fashion people, I often feel that fashion bloggers sort of get this weird vibe, or even weird looks, from the other groups. Not everyone, of course. Just some of them. It's like, "who are you? You know nothing about fashion". It might be true. I know little about fashion. All I know is that I like to dress up and all. And I get it. People like me, or most of us fashion bloggers, did not study fashion. We don't have a strong fashion background. But does that make us "wrong" for being included in the fashion world nowadays?

To boast a little, I do think fashion bloggers deserve all the attention we are luckily getting at the moment. We are directly helping the fashion industry, you see? We tell people what label we are wearing on our #OOTD posts, and that significantly helps designers - particularly new ones - to get their brand out there. We represent "real people" who actually wear the fashion items you other fashion people style and display on the runway or fashion spreads. We wear fashion for real in our daily lives, not just for show. We voluntarily promote fashion. Isn't that something?

I just think that regardless how one ends up in the fashion circle, no one deserves to be discriminated. We all play our different roles with one end objective: to spread the love for fashion! If you still hate us bloggers, I think you're just jealous hehehe..

itu lah yang terjadi di masyarakat kak..banyak yg belum paham tapi sudah gampang berkomentar ini itu ditambah lagi minimnya rasa ingin tau. banyak yg blm tau betapa hits dan berpengaruhnya seorang blogger ketika dia mampu menyentuh hati banyak pembaca & penikmat blognya. fashion blogger is uber cool kak.

Gw rasa jaman skrg fashion blogger udah gak bs dipandang sebelah mata keberadaannya. Kapan itu gw nonton acara behind the scene nya new york fashion week. Dan salah satu nya ngebahas fashion blogger. Para wartawan ngincer lho fashion blogger yg dateng. Dan tempat duduk barisan depan di nyfw yg biasanya diisi chief editor majalah fashion skrg banyak dikasih ke fashion blogger karena mereka dianggap punya impact yg besar.

I agree with all of your words in this post kak :") I ever feel :") Just because I new in this "fashion blogger industry" and I don't have much followers, then people act like you said in this post "who are you? bla bla bla".
But same like you kak, I just love to dress up or even sometimes "dress down" LOL! I love what I wore and so that's why I made a blog maybe 3 or 4 years ago. LOL! I don't even care about having much followers, I just do what I love to do :))

OMG, I can't agree more with your thought. Fashion is everyone's privilege, include those who doesn't study fashion.

Hi Diana, kalo dari pandangan saya pribadi, hmm walaupun kita bebas berpendapat, mungkin enggak semua orang jealous sama keberadaan fashion blogger. Dan kalo dilihat dari tulisan Diana sih, I may say Diana seperti hendak "generalize" beberapa orang fashion yang betul-betul pure berkecimpung di dunia fashion, kalo mereka kurang menghargai adanya fashion blogger.

Saya cukup "gatel" dengan beberapa blogger Indonesia yang kayaknya kurang terima dengan perlakuan orang-orang yg mungkin blom digital bgt kali ya, sehingga merasa belum diterima dengan baik. Even dipandang/mungkin diunderestimate ya. Seharusnya kalau Diana memang berpegang sama opini Diana yg blg Fashion Bloggers itu represent brand org2 fashion, ya jalani saja. Maaf kalau comment saya terkesan menggurui..
