Schmile!

Photobucket
Old Blossom Box t-shirt, H&M scarf, Asos skirt, Khaloong necklace, POP flat shoes

How do you manage to still look cool or not care when people stare at you from top to bottom because of the unique outfits you wear?
I feel comfortable with what I wear, and being comfortable includes not bothering too much what other people think or say hehehe. Fashion is a personal choice so everyone has the right to feel comfortable in their own unique ways.

How do you get all the money to buy such clothes and other fashion stuff?
I work! I run my Up shoe business and occasionally do freelance jobs for various projects...:)

What do you do to the gifts (from online shops or brand) that you don't like or you know you will never wear?
I give them to my close friends or relatives who I know would love them more than I do..:)

Does your husband ever criticize about the way you dress? And if yes, do you follow his advice or not?
My husband is very supportive, and he always appreciates how I dress. He would only criticize me if my clothes are too revealing, which I follow because I don't like to dress sexy too hehehe...

Do you ever feel like you're too old to wear something?
Fashion knows no age! :)

Will you wear hijab soon?
That's a personal decision I prefer not to answer...thanks! :)

Will you open an offline store for Up
Not in near time, because there are many other priorities for Up that I need to focus on...

What do you think of Dian Pelangi's style and designs? Do you think she's an inspiring person?
Her designs are awesome..and she is definitely an inspiring young lady..:)

Would you ever consider Dian Pelangi to collaborate with Up
That's a good idea! :)

How did you find out what your passion is?
You can read the story here, dear! :)

What is your shoe size?
38

How do you take care of your shoes?
I wear my shoes in turns so they all get equal wear and rest..and I store them neatly inside their shoe boxes.

How do you make your photos bright although you took them indoor?
I increase the brightness in Photoshop! :)

You've been dating S for years before you finally got married. How did you survive that loooong period of time (especially in long distance relationship)? How did you two really make it work?
We never had any issue on LDR because it didn't really matter somehow...our goal was to get married, so anything within the process was just worth it. Even though we were far away from each other, the idea of "owning" him as "mine" was enough to set free of my worries, and that long period of "me time" actually allowed me to just focus on building myself and my career first. I think he also felt the same way. Being in love should not make us over-dependent on each other that we sorta die when he's not around hehehe... Love should provide the freedom and positive energy to become what we want to be in life because we want to make each other proud and we know we'll always support each other. So it's about two souls, united, becoming two better souls.

How do you stay creative and be yourself even though the environment sometimes brings you down?
The environment cannot change who we are inside. We should bring goodness to our environment so in return they will eventually respect and accept us for who we truly are.

Would you mind to show ALL of your fashion stuff?
I actually mind hahah..it would feel weird to do that so I guess I shouldn't..:)

Do you have any advice on how to build up self-confidence?
I used to have a low level of self-confidence, and often blamed the environment for being "mean" and too judgmental. And I've always felt like I'm an outlier who doesn't belong. But then I started to realize, that I'm different, and being different is a blessing. I should embrace it and make people understand me. Having that mindset has enabled me to become a more confident person, because I am no longer scared of being my true self, and the only way to gain people's respect is by respecting yourself first.

Do you ever feel not knowing what to wear?
Yup! Many times! Then I start from the shoes...I select which shoes I want to wear, then I find clothes that would match my shoes.

Do you always shop when you visit the malls?
I honestly like the idea of owning new items, so yes, I kinda "always" shop when I visit the malls...but the items I purchase can be anything..it doesn't have to be clothes or expensive items. It can be as simple as stickers or cute pens hehehe...

How do you overcome a "bad day" and stay positive instead of feeling regretful?
I am the kind of person who sees bad days as jokes. I think life is funny, because it always comes out unexpected. I guess the trick is to have a sense of humor, so we don't take things too seriously. There's always something to laugh upon, even our worst days.

What are the rules in playing with motifs and colors?
Ohhh I might not be the right person to ask, because I like to clash colors and prints, which for most people is a big NO hehehe. For me, prints can be clashed or combined as long as the colors create a clear theme.

Thanks, everyone! :)

Hi Diana! I really love this part that you wrote "Do you have any advice on how to build up self-confidence?

As a filipina young mom who is starting out to blog and sees fashion still as a form of self-expression up to now (that i'm pregnant)... this line is something I can relate to and gives me encouragement... I guess not only to me, but to other people who will get to read this in the future. Thank you for being an inspiration as always...

dear diana...

i'm glad you decided to keep your answer for the hijab question. it shows how low profile you really are. I, my self just wearing hijab few months ago, and the more I wear it the more I understand that hijab is a very very personal decision. Take your time Di. You are the only one who know when the TIME is coming.

Love You, diana
